About the role
- Work on Lumeria’s digital experience, from the design to the front-end build of our app, making advanced skin imaging feel simple, intuitive and approachable for an everyday consumer.
- Work hands-on: talk with customers, gather their feedback and find the places we can improve.
- Work closely with the founders and engineers on the Lumeria experience.
- Experiment with illustrations, graphics, interactions and other creative details that make Lumeria feel more human, intuitive and memorable.
- Find creative ways to make complex skin data and technology feel simple.
What you will do
- Design and keep improving the UI/UX of the Lumeria app.
- Talk with customers to understand their pain points and needs, and gather their feedback.
- Turn what customers need into concrete design improvements.
- Test and iterate on designs based on user and internal feedback.
- Own projects from the first problem through design and implementation.
- Bring a strong creative and artistic eye to Lumeria, beyond traditional UI/UX.
- Make original visual elements and illustrations by hand, digitally on an iPad or tablet, or by sketching and drawing.
Required
- 1+ year of experience in UI/UX, product design, front-end development or a related role.
- Strong visual design skills and a genuine passion for UI/UX.
- Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Able to take a design from first concepts through implementation.
- Comfortable talking with customers, out loud and in writing.
- Able to turn feedback from customers and teammates into design improvements.
- Able to work hands-on in a fast-paced, early-stage startup.
Preferred
- Knowledge of JavaScript, React, HTML and CSS.
- Experience building your own designs on the front end.
- Strong artistic ability, including illustration, sketching, or making original visual assets digitally or by hand.
- Experience creating illustrations and other visual elements.
- Interest in going beyond traditional UI/UX into illustration, graphics, motion and creative interactions.
